Behold the new button!
Go HERE to read all about how this came to be. Basically, it's about ending your week on a positive note!
To participate
1. Write a post about something good that happened this week (or if you don't blog, tell me by leaving a comment). It can be anything. Just keep it positive!
2. Grab the #TGIF button and include it somewhere in your post.
3. Come back here and link up. Linky is open all weekend (even when I publish a new post).
4. Visit other linkers, leave comments and consider giving them a follow (it would be nice if you followed me, but no pressure).
5. Share posts on Twitter, Facebook, StumbleUpon, etc, if you are so inclined!
6. TGIF is open to guest posting! In fact, I'd like to have someone else here every other week. If you want, instead of just linking your post to mine, you can write the post instead of me. Just let me know by Thursday of the week that you want to do it, and I will happily step aside and let you take the floor! Be warned, if no one volunteers, I might put you on the spot and you will feel obligated to do it because you love me!

Here's your funny for today:
So tell me, how was your Thanksgiving?
How was the rest of your week?
Yep, I'm still here! Don't know if anyone else will be, but here I am!
You see, I do not do Black Friday. There are a few reasons:
- I am almost NEVER able to do mass shopping. Doesn't matter how good the deals are.
- My husband works it.
- It scares the hell outta me!
People have been trampled at Walmart for a DVD player. Don't tell me that's not scary!
I've been seeing some of the commercials leading up to today and I shake my head.
I love me some good deals. I pretty much refuse to buy anything at regular price. But all this Black Friday stuff is just a bit too extreme for me.
So today I will spend all cozy here at home with my kiddos, chillaxin with leftovers, movies, video games, knitting and such. I have legwarmers to make!
We had a nice Thanksgiving. Just the 4 of us and my dad at his place. Turkey took too long to cook, but it was well worth the wait. In fact, I will be so bold to say that our Thanksgiving dinner was BETTER than yours!

It is like those crazy people who go out for Boxing Day sales . . . no thanks. I can't stand shopping when the stores aren't crowded . . . put way too many people in a store and I stronly suspect I would lose my mind!
ReplyDeleteAnyhoo, your Thanksgiving looked yummy. Enjoy hanging with the kids today.
Jenn
I went to one store with one goal in mind. I stood I waited I purchased I left. All relatively painless. There was a drunk obnoxious gal a few people behind me in line, and my sister probably saved me because she was 10th in line and got my ticket for my item. I was home before 11 PM
ReplyDeleteNo Black Friday for me!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to go ride my horse in this glorious Fall weather!! Yahoooo!!
I think black friday is a terrible tradition in this country. We are pawns in a corporate game. It's all for profits! And the way people behave, its awful. It makes me want to not buy anything!!
ReplyDeleteHi Jen;
ReplyDeleteVisiting from Terri's Little Corner. I love your blog! My new favorite word for today is "chillaxin". You know, I think I may actually do that every night with my glass of wine. LOL So to me, the act is not new, but the word is. I'm old. I hear things a decade after everyone else. Anyhooo, I had a bit of a skeery adventure yesterday myself. Some guy stepped in front of my car and started screaming at me in Spanish. Then he pounded on my window and screamed. I got the heckus out of there. And it was outside a drugstore, not even a mall. Black Friday is Evil, I tell you.
I don't do Black Friday either. I stay clear of packed stores and crowds of people and traffic!
ReplyDeleteI like your new button!
