  1. I just read your post on the other blog.

Wow. It must be tough not expecting your husband to see your kids grow up. I have no idea what that feels like. All I can do is wish you the best. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. Stay strong.

  2. Jennifer, I read your post from Great Expectations. My husband's brother has battled Type-1 Diabetes since the age of 2yrs. He is now 44. Like Mark, Walter has had the kidney/pancreas transplant, and a separate kidney transplant. He also suffered a heart attack, and he has had a stroke. Walter travels extensively for work. I joke with him that he is trying to tour the hospitals worldwide, as he has literally gone to hospitals throughout the world. His latest hospital visit was while in China.
He's been an inspiration for me. I call him the Energizer Bunny, because he just keeps going and going. He has a daughter and a wife, and I honestly don't know how many years he'll continue to be with us. He is once again on a transplant list for a kidney. His is functioning at 10% I think. (Maybe 20%) Dialysis is pending - and well, his battle continues.
Jennifer, my heart goes out to you. This is not an easy journey. May you find comfort and strength through friends, family and faith. Give Mark a hug for me. I have a thing for Energizer Bunnies, and I think he is one, too. :)
